Tea at the beach...
This summer, as you lie on the beach basking in the warmth of the sun, quench you thirst with a thermos full of the healthiest drink possible: delicious, refreshing homemade iced tea. Besides being free of preservatives, sugar and other sweeteners or colorants, it contains all the beneficial ingredients contained in tea leaves, such as polyphenols, catechins, theanine and vitamins.
Just choose your favorite tea, plain or flavoured with dried flowers, fruit or herbs.

How to prepare iced tea?
There are two popular methods for preparing iced tea using loose tea leaves. The first involves preparation with hot water that is subsequently iced, and the second involves preparation directly with cold water.
Iced tea: Hot water method
For 1 l iced tea:

Put 6-7 teaspoons of tea in 250 ml hot water, let steep according to brewing time and strain in order to prepare a strong hot tea.

Add 2-4 tablespoons of sugar (optional).

Pour this brew into a 1-litre pitcher filled with ice cubes.

The iced tea cools immediately and is ready to drink.
Add a slice of lemon and keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Adapt quantities for a smaller or larger pitcher.
Iced tea: Cold water method
For 1 l iced tea:

Put 5 rounded teaspoons of tea into a 1-litre jug filled with ½ l room-temperature water.

Let steep according to below brewing times, strain and top up with ice cubes.

The iced tea is ready to drink.

Keep in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
Green/White tea: 30 min Black tea: 45 min
Fruit and herbal teas: 60min Rooibos: 60min
