Τhe Tea Route imports some of the best earthenware teapots in the world, the famous unglazed hand made Chinese clay teapots from the city of Yixing, South west of Shanghai. These are exceptional items with regard to their shape and texture as well as the characteristics of the clay that retains heat for a long time. These teapots keep the “memory” of the aromas, and are therefore best used for one single type of tea (green, black, flavored). It is said that after several years you can brew tea in a seasoned Yixing pot just by pouring in hot water.
