Small white porcelain teapot made in the town of Jingdezhen, perfect for the traditional Chinese Gong Fu Cha tea ceremony. Situated in China's southeast Jiangxi province, Jingdezhen is virtually synonymous to ceramics and is believed to have produced fine pottery as early as the 6th century. By the 14th century it was the country’s largest center for traditional porcelain production. Today, though demand has greatly decreased, thanks to the influx of young creative ceramists from around the world who have set up their workshops there, 90% of the city’s inhabitants are potters.
