Tea / Tea / Black Tea / Pure Origin / Darjeeling Arya Ruby 2nd flush SFTGFOP1 2023
The district of Darjeeling, situated in northern West Bengal, India, at the foothills of the Himalayas, is home to 87 tea gardens, or estates, located between 1000 and 2000 metres in elevation and varying in size from 80 to 500 hectares. These estates produce “the champagne of teas”, premium quality exclusively hand-picked, mostly black teas during three main harvests – Spring, Summer and Fall. Arya Tea Estate covers 125 hectares and has an average elevation of 1500mmaking access to it extremely difficult and a challenge even to the experienced estate drivers. Made exclusively from AV2 Clonal bushes this stylish Darjeeling tea is tippy and chunky. The carefully rolled wiry leaves and golden tips yield a full-bodied, velvety ruby-brown liquor with a complex character, abundance of muscatel and peach notes with a lingering honey after taste. A great choice for those who like a lighter black tea.

Tea Route
Darjeeling Arya Tea Estate, originally known as Sidrabong, was established in 1885 by Buddhist monks who devoted themselves, among their other duties, to cultivating tea trees. The house they inhabited in the 19th century can still be found on the estate. Arya Tea Estate is famous for its “Jewel” range of teas, usually produced in very limited quantities in order to retain their purity, including tearoute’s Diamond, Ruby and Emerald varieties.
