A white tea from the Menghai region, in China’s Yunnan Province. The big, silvery-black leaves and buds belong to the assamica variety and overflow with refreshing aromas of eucalyptus and conifers. A rich liquor with concentrated melon and tobacco aromas that culminate in notes of honey. A tea receptive to experimentations in time and temperature, which matures and ‘comes together’ in time.

The most popular version of where the name ‘China Moonlight’ comes from is that at first the leaves were only picked under the light of the moon so that they wouldn’t be damaged or marred by sunlight. However, the name could also be owed to the leaves’ silvery-gold and black hues that make one think of moonlight.
