Kenya

Fourth largest grower in the world, even though the first estates were not planted until 1925, Kenya produces distinctively strong, spicy teas with fruity aromas. Grown among the foothills of Mount Kenya, near Lake Victoria, 90% of these teas are processed by fully automated CTC (Crushing -Tearing-Curling) machines.

While Asian countries consume much of the tea they grow, Africans drink very little tea and most of their production is exported.
